Empowerment Counseling for Women in NJ, CT, FL & VT

Are you pulled in so many directions that it’s hard to understand what YOU want and need?

It’s not quite depression. It’s not quite anxiety. Sometimes it feels like both, and sometimes it’s just a feeling that something is NOT RIGHT…but you don’t know what it is. Empowerment counseling is for women who:

  • Feel stuck and anxious with no way to get clarity

  • Feel chronically overwhelmed

  • Feel uncertain about the future

  • Have feelings of grief due to life changes or your prior identity

  • Have strained relationships at home, socially or at work

  • Are questioning if your current life is fulfilling and authentic

Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.

-Eckhart Tolle

Do you doubt yourself, criticize yourself, feel inadequate, or have a very loud negative inner voice?

Women of all ages have to balance SO MANY THINGS. We can become chronically exhausted, struggle with our mental health and lose touch with our needs.

Life transitions, caring for aging parents, building and maintaining a career, parenting, relationships, home responsibilities, social and societal expectations and pressures, changes in physical health, and retirement concerns can take a heavy toll on our mind, heart, and body. Getting clear on what we want and need helps us to balance the pieces with a greater sense of ease and security. Sometimes it is as simple as letting go of a story in your head about how things should be, and embracing what is.

Change is hard and it doesn’t come with an instruction manual. I get it. Let’s work together to tap your inner wisdom and empower you to live the authentic life you want.

Empowerment counseling for women can help you…

  • Get clarity on your wants and needs

  • Learn to set healthy boundaries

  • Feel supported without judgement

  • Find a place of inner balance

  • Make changes that align with your goals

  • Let go of stories, situations, relationships, circumstances that no longer serve you

Frequently asked questions about empowerment counseling for women

FAQs

  • Not at all! For some women empowerment counseling means that they are just letting go of stories in their heads about how things should be and leaning in to reality which can restore a sense of peace.

  • Yes! It is not uncommon to experience depression and anxiety when we feel disempowered. As a psychotherapist I am trained to treat anxiety, depression, and trauma. If we find that you could benefit from other forms of therapy, like EMDR or DBT, during our collaboration to help support the goal of empowerment we will integrate as needed.
