Meet leah oswanski, MA, LPC, MT-BC

You already have the ability to heal within. Let’s work together to uncover your truth.

If you are looking for authenticity, empowerment, and radical healing…

You’re in the right place.

When we feel stuck, anxious, afraid, and/or alone it feels horrible.

I know. I have been there too.

The answer to healing lies within, not outside of ourselves. We won’t find healing on social media, in magazines, or in other peoples ideas. You will find it in yourself! (Hint: It’s been there all along)

Like most people, my story includes pain, loss, trauma, heartbreak and grief. I have lost people I loved dearly. I’ve had painful life transitions that felt like they might shatter my identity. But, like a lotus rising out of the mud, with time and support I have always reemerged with a newfound strength and increased coping skills. Life isn’t always easy…but I know that it is possible to not stay in the mud forever, even when it feels that way.

Between my personal journey and my professional training I have come to center my practice on helping people sweep away the “noise” of other voices and focus on their own authentic wisdom. It is that voice that brings freedom.

Also- I love dogs, nature, tattoos, feminist theories, all sorts of music, photography, reading, astrology, traveling, singing, enneagram wisdom, and cursing is always welcome in session!

My guiding principles

Empowerment

When we are overwhelmed by grief, pain, anxiety, and fear we can often feel hopeless with no way to see that things can be different. I have observed that as clients cultivate a greater sense of empowerment, they are better equipped to confront challenges, set healthy boundaries, and make decisions that align with their values. This contributes to a reduction in anxiety, depression, and other distressing symptoms.

Trust

Trust is the cornerstone of any successful therapeutic relationship, and it is developed in time. You must feel safe and understood in order to open up and do the work. I believe trust is the bedrock upon which hope, resilience, and transformation can thrive.

Radical Honesty

Radical honesty starts from within. We can’t create change until we are honest with ourselves about what we need and don’t need, how we feel, and where our boundaries lie. The therapy room is a safe space to begin to unpack what we are often afraid to say in “real life”.

Creativity

I have drawn upon a wide range of creative and somatic therapeutic techniques, seamlessly integrating them with traditional "talk" therapy, for over two decades. This might look like music therapy, narrative therapy, EMDR, body scans, therapeutic photography, journaling, meditation, art, or nature-based techniques. As part of our collaboration it is my job to offer many different ways to achieve your goals, but it’s your choice to decide what modality feels right to you. (I promise I won’t make you sing a song or journal if you hate that sort of thing…😂)
